What changes when a job sheet goes digital?
The basic information does not change: who the work was for, where it happened, what was requested and what was done. A digital job sheet makes the evidence easier to capture and the record easier to find. Photos, voice transcripts, materials and time can stay with the job rather than in separate apps.
Keep a distinction between capture and approval
A note taken on site may be incomplete. An AI-generated paragraph may be well written but still wrong. TradeJobSheet keeps these inputs and drafts separate from approval. Check the wording, photos and missing information before approving a version that is ready to share.
Version history makes corrections visible
An approved report is preserved. If you need to correct a description after approval, create a new draft and approve the revision. Existing view links remain pinned to their versions; outstanding signing invitations are invalidated when the report changes. This avoids asking a customer to sign wording that is no longer current.
Sharing that does not turn reports into public pages
A report link contains a high-entropy token and has an expiry. The business can revoke it. Reports are not published under guessable job-reference URLs, and account pages and share pages are excluded from indexing. Anyone who has a valid link can access the relevant report, so only give it to the intended recipient.
Start with an existing process
If you already use paper job sheets, keep your familiar fields and wording. Use a template for repeat visit types, add the job evidence and produce a PDF the customer can save or print. You do not need to migrate accounting or scheduling to get the benefit of a clearer completion record.
